New Year. New Content. New Beginning. AND A GIVEAWAY!

If there was an award for "worst blogger" in the book blog atmosphere, I might receive it due to not having updated in so long. However, I truly have been thinking about this blog and still check other blogs daily. Hell, I even have started several book reviews but I suffer from anxiety and let me just say that senior year + anxiety doesn't exactly allow for things to run a planned.

But my anxiety should calm now a lot because my first semester classes are over and I'll be done with my college applications soon. Although, I guess waiting for the colleges admissions letter to come will be hell (please pray that I get accepted into the colleges!). Anyway, I promise people, I'm back for good.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT WICKED GOOD BOOKS
This year, I will be having a theme for just about every month with a month long giveaway. There isn't a particular theme for January because I feel that I just want to build my blog back up.

Whoa! Wicked Good Books 1st Blogiversary & Giveaway!!

Since it's my blogiversary, I thought I'd tell you all how my book blog came to be. Throughout my life, I have found many things that I really enjoy now by accidently stumbling upon them. Here is one example: Well, one summer day, I was reading Sarah Dessen's livejournal and she mentioned that Susane Colasanti was having some sort of contest. Now, at this point in time, the amount of book giveaways that I had entered came up to zero. Sure, I went on a couple of author blogs and book sites (like mugglenet.com,) but before this day, I really hadn't seen a giveaway to win a book. I thought it was so cool, so I immediately entered her contest and as I was looking at some of the comments, I randomly clicked on another users and this is how I found out about the book blog world.....
This livejournal user (I wish I remember the account name!) had some entry about Sarah Ockler's Twenty Boy Summer Scavenger Hunt. I had never even heard of Sarah Ockler or her book but I definitely was intrigued by it! I clicked on the link and went on Sarah's site to find more about this virtual scavenger hunt and then, I found links to book blogs where there were clues and other things for it. These blogs were the first book blogs that I had read. I didn't even know there were such things as blogs for book reviews and such! I have always been a blogger, so I quickly created a book blog it was initially called Wicked Books, but someone thought it sounded like books about Wicked (you know, the musical) and so, I changed it to Wicked Good Books because I loved the sound of it. Wicked is one of my favorite words and it reminds me of Boston, which I love. So, there you have it! This is the story of how I came to be in the world of book blogging!
Thanks to Genevieve and Korianne who gave me lots of tips on making my blog better when I first started blogging! First Follower: Genevieve (yay!) First Review: Identical by Ellen Hopkins First Author Interview: Sasha Soren Sasha Soren, Jennifer Laurens, Daisy Whitney, and Michelle Zink are some of the author's that I think are really fantastic and so, so nice! It has been awesome talking to them! You should definitely check out their sites and books. Some of my favorite book blogs and bloggers are: Steph Su Reads, Books By Their Covers, Bookworming in the 21st Century, Bites, The Story Siren, Pop Culture Junkie, The Page Flipper, Sophsikatied Reviews, and adventures of cecelia bedelia (You can find their links in my blogroll) I would really like to thank my regular commenters! Nina, Michelle, Maura, and everyone else on the Top Commentators list, thank you! You guys always make me smile when I see a comment that you left! All in all, it's been a pretty freakin' awesome year! I hope next year I can go to BEA or ALA and more author events! That would be wicked.
